  • Loveisnowhere 2

Loveisnowhere 2 is much more of a "Jen album" than its predecessor. Writing for phase 4 began back at the beginning of September 2008 when I felt comfortable enough in my then relationship to start exploring the relationship I had with Jen, or rather didn't have. Admiting to writing these songs about Jen (though I still debate that they are more about me and my feelings for her than about her) led to that relationship breaking up, and in the imediate aftermath I recorded the opening tracks for this phase, Autophobia 1 - 3.

Autophobia 1 is I feel the track that best sums up how I was feeling at that time. Although I no longer desired to be with Jennifer I still found that I was gaining much milage from her as a muse. The three songs over all are indicitive of the critical tone that much of the lyrics written at that time were.

Boomerang was recorded soon after these and was, as can probably be guessed, about Jen. For the rest of 2008 I would record a number of covers, which I feel helped when it came to recording the rest of Phase 4. I felt much more confident playing these songs than I had before.

In late 2008/early 2009 I began talking with Jen again, and I was reminded of that early spark that helped spawn the early Vendetta Against Doubt lyrics, many of which remained unused. I took these out and proceeded to see what I could use. Bradfield, 161299, Problems and Today Us, Tomorrow The World were all old lyrics. Death By Discobeat was a song that I originally recorded back in 2002 onto a cassette. Nightmare Valentine was a song written and recorded around Valentines Day dedicated to my delightful ex (the one of who I spoke at the start).

I was proud of Phase 4 as a set of songs, it seemed like an end to a certain part of my life, and Today Us, Tomorrow the World is one of my favourite songs.
